Neurofeedback that clients run themselves, in wellness centres without a specialist on hand.

The system lets clients run their own brain-training sessions in wellness centres: fit the headset, follow the session, and see their progress, on units that look after themselves.

The problem

Wellness centres can't keep a neurofeedback specialist on every shift. If clients are to run sessions themselves, the system has to guide them, catch a badly fitted headset, and never need an engineer on site.

Every location needed the same experience, kept up to date and supportable from a distance.

What I built

  1. A guided session

A session app that walks clients through fitting the headset, checks the signal quality before starting, and runs the training with tones and clear prompts.

  2. Progress clients can see

Session reports, a history of past sessions, and a leaderboard.

  3. Units that look after themselves

Each unit is set up the same way from a script, updates itself, and tells the client when it has, so a location never waits on an engineer.

  4. Support from a distance

Secure remote access for support, and new locations and accounts set up automatically rather than by hand.

The result

  • Neurofeedback turned from a specialist-run service into one clients could use on their own, across multiple locations.
